This is a really unique design for a Gerstner Chest. The unusual drawer shape makes the Toolmaker’s Chest especially useful for everyday carry (EDC), long tools, and collectibles. These drawers are perfect for transporting a set of antique knives to shows or bringing your finest handmade paintbrushes out for some landscape painting. The drawer shape is also handy for hauling loads of little, delicate items like what jewelry and watchmakers would require. The drawers are hand-crafted to slide easily, making perfect removable trays to keep those little gears and gems protected and organized, and then locking up tight for secure transport. Built Gerstner strong, it’ll give you peace of mind in taking delicate precision tools on the road.

The new 0806 Toolmakers Chest takes its inspiration from an early Gerstner design, the Style 25,  which appeared in our catalogs from 1914 through 1919 and was available for purchase through the late 1920’s. The original plans for this case were lost in a flood, but we brought back what made it so special in a design reimagined for modern use. The result is a well-balanced, lightweight Quarter-sawn White Oak chest with smart Polished Nickel hardware.
